Deep in the forests of southern Illinois lies a secret place called 'Ripple Hollow'. Protected by tall bluffs that border the Mississippi River, old growth beech trees tower overhead, housing the sights and sounds of a forest gone unnnoticed by time and humans. Listening as the sun comes up is like climbing into a time machine and hearing what untold miles of forests must have sounded like hundreds of years ago.
This recording features the sounds of birds tucked away in a hard to reach corner of the world. The birds here are many and diverse, singing along a small creek surrounded by steep ravines. Featured prominently is a very vocal Louisiana Waterthrush who is quite eager to welcome you into this magical place!
