If you're brave enough to face the mosquitoes, settling into the cattails of a coastal marsh can open up a mysterious world that few people ever experience. All around you, surreptitious critters begin to scurry about, calling out to their neighbors as they go about closing out the day before the sun falls behind the horizon. Are you patient enough to wait them out and catch a glimpse?
This recording features the sounds of the many birds that call the coastal marshes of Louisiana home during the winter and spring months. You'll hear the wind blowing the cattails softly against each other, while secretive marsh birds move all around you. Don't get startled by one of the Common Gallinules sneaking up on you!
